ABOUT THE OWNER

Hi, I’m Barbara Butcher and I am the proud owner of KatKeep. My experience originated as a way to help my daughter when she needed a pet sitter. Her dogs and cats are my furry little grandbabies. We would jokingly refer to my time with them as “Camp Grandmommy”. This sparked the idea for KatKeep. I realized that there was a need for giving personal attention to animals while their owners were away, and what better way to provide the best care than with in-home pet sitting.

KatKeep is established in the community and my experience and passion for taking care of animals is well rooted. My primary focus is in cat sitting, but I will also care for small dogs, fish, birds and rabbits. The best way to get to know your needs is through my free initial visit with you and your pets.

Whether you've considered in-home pet sitting before or you are new to the idea, I'm eager to help in any way I can. Let me hear from you next time you need a pet-sitter for your precious pets!

KATKEEP DONATES TO MEALS ON WHEELS

"Like their owners, the pets who are cherished by millions of homebound seniors receiving Meals On Wheels services also need nutritious meals to stay healthy. Appreciating how important it is to provide both seniors and their pets with high quality nutritious meals, MOWAA created We All Love Our Pets (WALOP) – a national initiative that seeks to unite Meals On Wheels programs across the country in their efforts to keep seniors and their beloved pets well nourished. Some Meals On Wheels programs have created projects that make it possible for them to deliver pet food to the seniors they serve. Most, however, lack the resources needed to integrate this important activity – keeping companion pets, sometimes a homebound senior’s only “family” member, well nourished and healthy – into routine program operations. Until MOWAA established WALOP in 2006, there was no national initiative for focusing attention on the vital relationship that exists between homebound seniors and their pets, or for building the financial resources needed to make pet food deliveries an integral part of the nutritional services local Meals On Wheels programs provide for homebound seniors."
